A Cyber World of Trouble for Parents by Katie Koestner

Do you know what archive.org is and how it might affect your child's college admission? Do you know current blog topics of choice among teens? Do you know the purpose of BitTorrent Programs and how the use of such programs may make parents liable? Do you know how predators use MySpace, Facebook, and Xanga to locate their next targets?  Do you know what an X-Box live outing is?  Do you know what the difference is between a Facebook "Poke" and a Facebook "Photo Tag"?  If you have no idea what we are talking about, then "A Cyber World of Trouble" is the program for you. 

Teen Relationship Culture: An Update for Parents by Katie Koestner

Is your son “Hot or Not?” Has your daughter “Faced the Jury?” In this program, parents receive a comprehensive update on relationship culture and sexual misconduct among today’s teens. With her captivating delivery, and vast breadth of knowledge about the teen relationship scene, acclaimed speaker, Katie Koestner, provides parents across the country with the tools to effectively communicate with their kids about sensitive gender issues.  Attendees have the opportunity to discuss and debate a real-life case study, as well as experience a multi-media presentation of teen pop culture, from movies to magazines. In Loco Parentis: Choosing a Safe College

Are colleges selling a safe product?  Colleges are required by federal law to report crime statistics and offer that information to prospective students and parents.  Have the colleges of your choice offered you this information? Have you analyzed the crime reports for the colleges you and your children are considering? This program provides an update on issues ranging from high risk drinking and hazing to sexual assault and cyber-dating. Know what to look for on college tours and which questions to ask.
