by Stephanie Greiner
Stephanie Greiner, has not only witnessed how sexual assault impacts our campuses, but has experienced it first hand. In the summer of 1997, during her sophomore year of college, Stephanie was sexually assaulted while she was under the influence of alcohol. The attack was perpetrated by someone with whom she worked.
In the weeks following the attack, Stephanie questioned her judgment, whether it was really sexual assault, and how she was going to get past the experience. Since then, she has been dedicated to researching and presenting on the topic, especially sexual assault peer education, in hopes that she can have her voice heard and help students make healthy decisions about alcohol use and relationship issues. In sharing her personal story, her goal is to empower both men and women on campuses to continue to educate themselves and each other.
