Dr. Patti Feuereisen is a psychologist in private practice in New York City. She has been an advocate for adolescent girls and young women who have been sexually abused for over twenty-five years. Prior to full time private practice, Dr. Patti worked with adolescent girls in foster care, group homes, family therapy centers and a private psychiatric hospital. Her experience as a therapist, support group facilitator and speaker make Dr. Patti an extremely knowledgeable and engaging presenter for a wide range of audiences.
Dr. Feuereisen is the author of Invisible Girls: The Truth About Sexual Abuse and the founder of Girlthrive, an outstanding resource for young female sex abuse survivors who can write to Dr. Patti for advice and support. She founded a college scholarship fund for incest survivors fiscally sponsored by RAINN, the Rape and Incest National Network. Dr. Patti is featured regularly on national radio talk shows.
Dr. Feuereisen holds a Doctorate in Psychology from Union Institute. Her passion to help young women find their voices continues as she consults with high schools and colleges throughout the nation. She has
consulted on articles for Teen Voices, Youth Connections, Seventeen Magazine and Sex Etc. Her consulting clients include the New York City Board of Education, Fair Oaks Hospital, Edwin Gould Services for Children, Center for Adoptive Families, Styvacent Academy, Madison High School, Brooklyn Friends School, Poly Prep School, Packer Academy and Edwin R. Murrow High School.
