Consultant - Emily Greytak

Emily A. Greytak, M.S.Ed.

Emily Greytak is a research and evaluation specialist focusing on prevention-education programs. She works closely with schools and organizations to asses the effectiveness of programs designed to prevent violence and promote social change.  Her clients include the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, the Anti-Defamation League, the YWCA, and various colleges, universities, and K-12 schools.   She regularly presents at national and regional conferences on program evaluation and the current research on effective practices in violence prevention. 

Emily is the author of the downloadable article “Educating for the Prevention of Sexual Abuse: An Investigation of School-based Programs for High School Students and their Applicability to Urban Schools” from the second issue of the journal Perspectives on Urban EducationShe previously served as the evaluator of a National Science Foundation funded project designed to improve math and science education and as the Coordinator of Research and Evaluation for the Phoenix Education Group. 

Having been involved in the field of sexual abuse prevention for over ten years, Emily has experience as an educator, counselor, advocate, and researcher.  She holds a Master’s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania and is currently working on her dissertation which focuses on the effectiveness of the preparation K-12 educators receive to respond to child abuse.  She has extensive experience with both quantitative and qualitative methods and analyses.

Emily is a member of the American Educational Research Association, the American School Health Association, the American Association of Health Education and the American Evaluation Association.  She also studies American Sign Language and teaches undergraduate courses in statistics, education, gender and race/ethnicity issues. 

Emily is available for consultation on needs assessments, program evaluation, program selection criteria, survey development and analysis, and other research needs regarding school violence and wellness.
