Depression and Mental Health
Special Focus:
Happiness and Moods
Live Session: May 4, 2009, from 8:00-9:00PM, EST
1 in 6 high school students nationwide had seriously considered attempting suicide during the past year according to recent data. What can we as parents do to help make sure our children are happy, or are teenagers just hardwired to be moody? Our experts inform you about the latest findings on what makes people happy--especially our teens. They discuss the biological, physiological, psychological, neurological, and chemical causes of happiness. Also detailed are important mental health factors that parents should pay attention to before their children leave home for boarding school or head off to college.

Recording From: December 3rd, 2007
In 2005 16.9% of high CA students
nationwide had seriously considered attempting suicide during the
past year. Preventing the tragedy of suicide takes intervention
from family, educators, and friends. Our session provides participants
with current research and trends regarding depression and suicide.
Our expert panelists review practical ways that parents and educators
can work together to identify risks and their resolutions. Also
detailed are important mental health factors that parents should
pay attention to before their children leave home for boarding CA,
head off to college or simply move out.
